Responsible for identifying and attracting top talent to Achaogen. The selected individual will partner with Talent Acquisition Recruiters to execute jointly on a recruiting plan unique to difficult-to-fill roles. Act as subject matter expert for passive candidate identification. Responsible for building talent pipelines for specific business areas and roles and related relationship management of the candidate pipeline.



  • Act as a passive candidate sourcing subject matter expert through the development and implementation of comprehensive sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill roles
  • Leverage various sourcing channels (online resources, network referrals, data mining, niche associations, conferences, networking, etc.) and methods to develop a proactive and steady pipeline of qualified and diverse talent for positions
  • Continually build and maintain candidate pipelines and networking relationships with the focus of broadening and increasing our talent community
  • Review resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge.
  • Conduct pre-screening phone interviews to assess candidates for: needed skill set & competencies, potential fit for current &/or future positions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates to ensure a positive candidate experience, communicating candidate status throughout entire process and positively represent the organization.
  • Convert hard-to-find passive talent through understanding of Achaogen, our mission, our vision, our values, and employee value proposition
  • Accurately track and report activity data to support staffing metrics
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned based on business needs
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and compliance



  • 2-5 years of high-volume sourcing passive candidate experience
  • Experience developing and executing fully comprehensive sourcing strategies, outside of LinkedIn



  • Sourcing for Scientific, R&D, Med Affairs/ Ops, Commercial, Regulatory, Laboratory, and/or Quality roles, or similar, for the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong multi-tasking, organization, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Outstanding research, data-mining skills and leveraging social media platforms
  • Comprehensive practice of Boolean search techniques
  • Proven experience engaging high-potential prospects through targeted sourcing and cold calling
  • Demonstrated success building and nurturing relationships with external talent to evolve them into applicants
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
