Sr. Manager, Sales Analytics

The Senior Manager Sales Analytics position will be managing the information assets and provide key business insight thru Business Intelligence tools and advanced analytics to the sales organization. S/he will be responsible for gathering requirements and translating those to effective decision-making tools. The Senior Manager Sales Analytics must be able to engage diverse audiences, possess strong analytical skills with an ability to translate findings into actionable insights.  The Senior Manager Sales Analytics is responsible for managing the field sales incentive compensation process; analyzing sales force realignment requests, acting as liaison on CRM-related issues, and evaluating third-party solutions for appropriate sales operations functions.  

 


Essential Functions:

  • Manage the research and analysis of sales data, competitive data and product mix 
  • Direct and/or conduct analysis of sales opportunities and make recommendations for sales strategy decisions
  • Research and present on sales trends.  Analyzes competitive environment and makes recommendations
  • Assess data acquisition needs based on budget
  • Participate in the evaluation, selection and implementation of Achaogen’s data visualization/business intelligence systems working with external vendors.  Leverage commercial experience and partner internally to understand business requirements and translate to technical requirements to support the sales team
  • Design ad hoc sales reports as needed to provide key patterns, business Insights to sales team to help evaluate business strategy decisions
  • Administer incentive compensation plan, ensuring timely exchange of monthly data among business partners, calculating eligibility, reviewing and distributing reports, managing inquiries from sales colleagues, and initiating data investigation and communicating resolution
  • Analyze realignment requests. Review with management and implement changes through data warehouse and with vendors as needed
  • Act as primary liaison on sales CRM and data warehouse projects
  • Facilitate acquisition and management of sales data
  • Evaluate third-party solutions for appropriate sales operations functions as needed.
  • Assist in managing inquiries to the field-team help desk.
  • Develop sales operations policies and procedures.
  • Work in the field with sales representatives to identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with experience in sales/business analytics, data management and/or sales operations – preferably supporting a hospital-based product
  • Proven strategic and analytical background, and the ability to simplify complex insights and findings to business partners through compelling communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with secondary data: syndicated sales, longitudinal patient-level data, payer data. Experience with IMS or related pharmaceutical sales data
  • Strong time management skills with experience meeting tight timelines on multiple competing projects
  • Excellent analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, vendor management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Veeva and sales data reporting tools
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Alteryx, QlikView), or equivalent
  • Ability to review and process information from multiple sources. Must be able to identify operational weakness and implement correction action/plan.
