Senior Director, Marketing

Position Summary:  ­
                                             

The Senior Director, Marketing is a high visibility position that will lead the launch of plazomicin, an antibiotic in development for treatment of carbapenem resistant infections, in the hospital market place. This leadership role will require a high level of strategic agility and insight to define the launch plan combined with operational excellence and influencing skills to ensure flawless cross-functional tactical execution.  The ability to manage, develop, and inspire a Marketing team of direct reports and other key cross-funtional teams to deliver is critical for success in this position. 
 

Essential Functions:
 

  • Lead, develop and inspire a team of four marketing professionals
  • Develop and implement commercialization strategy for plazomicin, including: resource planning; pricing and reimbursement; product positioning and messaging
  • Work cross-functionally to develop a comprehensive, best-in-class acute care launch program that engages target customers including Infectious Disease, Critical Care physicians, and Infectious Disease Pharmacists along with Microbiologists, Pharmacy Directors and C-Suite decision makers
  • Partner closely with the sales organization to ensure complete alignment on strategic and tactical approach
  • Collaborate closely with Market Analytics and Strategy to enable data and insight driven decision making
  • Partner with Medical affairs to develop a robust and enduring KOL engagement strategy
  • Support the creation and implementation of core marketing operational processes
     

Preferred Experience:
 

  • 10-12 years of commercial experience in the biotechnology industry, including at least 7 years of product marketing experience and 5 years of people leadership
  • Previous launch experience required
  • Experience marketing and/or selling in a hopsital environment required
  • Experience selling or marketing an anti-infective a plus
  • Sales experience preferred


Preferred Education: 
 

  • MBA and/or a degree in a scientific discipline

  • Extensive experience defining product strategy and executing tactical programs to support this strategy and achieve product goals
  • Strong business acumen and strategic agility driven by solid analytical thinking
  • Ability to lead and develop direct reports and to lead and inspire cross-functional teams
  • Experience developing compelling product positioning and messaging informed by stakeholder insight
  • Familiarity marketing across an organization as well as to individual stakeholders
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with key external stakeholders (payers, physicians, microbiologists, pharmacists)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Committed to the values of integrity, accountability, transparency, scientific rigor and drive
  • Current US work authorization required
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
