Associate Director, Marketing (TDM)

Position Summary:                                             

This position will play a key role in the launch of plazomicin by developing and executing an integrated commercial strategy around plazomicin therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM). This role will require the ability to work effectively with a broad array of both internal and external stakeholders, third party vendors and collaborators.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Commercial lead for TDM and a member of the cross-functional TDM project team.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategy for plazomicin TDM which allows customers to simply and conveniently employ plazomicin TDM to achieve optimal outcomes in critically ill patients.
  • Conduct market research to understand the key barriers and opportunities to the adoption of TDM.
  • Represent commercial on the TDM project team.
  • Work with commercial partners at Thermo Fisher Scientific (TFS) to ensure coordinated commercial. launch that supports plazomicin utilization including a broad, nationwide distribution of laboratories that can provide plazomicin TDM to hospitals that choose to utilize a reference lab.
  • Work with sales and medical affairs to develop a process for successful on-boarding of a plazomicin account that would include identifying and operationalizing TDM.
  • Identify and develop promotional tools / resources (e.g., a mobile and web based tool) that will support plazomicin dose modification based upon TDM.
  • Work with a cross functional team to integrate plazomicin dose modification programing into EHR tools and dosing guidelines within hospitals.
  • Develop and execute tactics to re-define TDM has a tool to optimize therapy as opposed to a burden; identify and track TDM commercial launch success factors / metrics and work cross-functionally to address any identified gaps.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 7-10 years of commercial experience in the biotechnology industry, including at least 5 years of product marketing experience.
  • Launch experience highly advantageous.
  • Experience working in the device field would be advantageous.
  • Experience selling or marketing an anti-infective a plus.
  • Experience marketing or selling in a hospital environment a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with strategic partners external to the company preferred.
  • Sales experience preferred.


Preferred Education: 

  • MBA and/or a degree in a scientific discipline.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Extensive experience defining product strategy and executing tactical programs to support this strategy and achieve product goals.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic agility driven by solid analytical thinking.
  • Experience developing compelling product positioning and messaging informed by deep stakeholder insight.
  • Familiarity marketing across an organization as well as to individual stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with key external stakeholders (payers, physicians, microbiologists, pharmacists).
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organizational structure.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Committed to the values of integrity, accountability, transparency, scientific rigor and drive.
  • Current US work authorization required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
