Project Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a collaborative Project Manager to bring energy and organization to our Research and Early Development portfolio. You will work on an exciting project focused on discovering and developing novel antibodies to treat infections caused by MDR gram-negative pathogens. This project is partnered with one of the world’s largest philanthropic organizations and promises to be a fast-moving and dynamic endeavor. The ideal candidate will form a highly collaborative partnership with the Project Team Lead, ensure scientific accountability from team members, drive efficient and informative decision making, and implement core PM tasks of planning, tracking, and managing cross-functional activities.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as project manager for Research and early Development-stage drug programs (Early Research to the end of Phase 1), including the development and execution of appropriately detailed project plans (ie, timelines, resources, and budget).
  • Partner effectively with the Project Team Lead to provide organizational and operational guidance to discovery and development teams.
  • Support the project team in navigating the Research lifecycle review process.
  • Identify critical issues which may delay projects and help the project team triage and implement solutions.
  • Maintain and communicate project information to key stakeholders, including communication of project budget information to management.
  • Support and influence cross-functional team execution of project-related deadlines and milestones.
  • Develop and maintain highly effective systems and processes for managing Research portfolio projects, including risk register, issue log, decision log, and action item tracker.
  • Facilitate and manage productive team communication and collaboration, both internally and externally.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Management Head to plan and report project progress and spend to inform governance bodies and management.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of industry experience in large or small molecule drug discovery and/or development.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on small or large molecule research experience, with an impactful publication record, strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience in drug development.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing cross-functional projects required.
  • Experience in infectious disease drug development a plus.
  • Assay development experience a plus.

 

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related field required; advanced degree (PhD, MS, MBA, PharmD) preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and MS Project.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Effective project and process management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to reach project goals on time and on budget.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including presentation effectiveness.
  • Independent, innovative, and creative thinker.
  • Ability to multi-task as needed in a start-up environment.

  • Current US work authorization required.
